Sapporo-1876

My commission for the Sapporo Canvas Contest commemorates the beer with its attributes on a sen coin. The sen coin and Sapporo Beer were created within three years of one another (1873 & 1876) Within the 9th year of the Meiji Era, Sapporo Beer was created in Sapporo Hokkaido.  This information is stated in the Kanji on the front of the Sen Coin. Instead of the dragon that graced the coin front within the center, the Sapporo emblem is used instead. On the back in the center the coin says One Sapporo in Kanji instead of One Sen.  The other Kanji further describe the coin's properties and worth.
